He’s currently advisor for W3C Spain as well as senior consultant in e-Government and Web Standards in the CTIC Foundation (organization that hosts W3C Spain), where he is in charge of the area of Reuse of Public Sector Information (Open Government Data).
He’s also representative of the Foundation on the W3C Advisory Committee. He has served as Head of eGovernment (eGov) on the international W3C staff until September 2009 and is currently co-leader of the worldwide group of interest on eGov.
Alonso worked as analyst, consultant and trainer, and founded his startup web in 1997.
In 2007 and 2008 was selected by newspaper "El Mundo" as one of the 25 most influential people on the Internet in Spain and in 2005 as one of the 30 most relevant by Spanish journal “El Pais”.
He’s used to manage projects and software integrations and has chaired and served on program committees in international conferences. He is also Computer engineer and expert in Web App’s integration at the University of Oviedo, where he also worked as a trainer, analyst and researcher.
Alonso studied Public Administration too at the Universitat Oberta of Catalunya (UOC).

He’s co-founder of Linking Paths development and president and founding member of the Pro Bono Publico Association, created in 2009 to promote public open data.
He’s specialist in Java, servlet and management software (ERP, Production, Planning, Consulting, Knowledge Management integrated), as well as application developper.
Daniel Dietrich. Opendatanetwork, Germany
He works as a researcher at Technical University Berlin (TU), department for informatics and society.
He’s the Chairman of the German based non-profit organisation Open Data Network.
He's also the official representative for the Open Knwoledge Foudantion (OKFN) in Germany as well as Co-founder of Tactical Tools, a think tank and idea foundry for digital strategies, communication design and software development.
He’s an advocate for freedom of speech, freedom of information, transparency, digital rights and privacy. He’s also an enthusiast for all concepts of “openness” such as the idea of the commons, of open government, open data, open access, open knowledge and open source.
Roger Melcior. Rodalia.info, Spain.
Studying Political Science and Administration at the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). Interested in public policy, management, network, web 2.0 tools and infrastructure and mobility.
He is 21 years old.
Claire Gallon. LiberTIC, France.
She's an independent opendata activist who launched the non-profit “Libertic” whose aim is to promote openness and re-use of public sector information in France.
She is particularly active in opendata watch via twitter @libertic and on the blog libertic.wordpress.com.
Currently working for a consumer organization, she has been involved in social innovation, and developped several social-oriented organizations since 2006.
Chris Taggart. OpenlyLocal.com, United Kingdom.
Chris Taggart is a member of the Open Knwoledge Foudantion open government data working group.
He is also the developer of Openlylocal.com, a project to make local public sector data in the UK available in an open and standardised form, and is a member of the UK Government's Local Public Data Panel, which has been tasked with the role of advising how to open up local public sector data.
